The 6th cycle of the postgraduate educational course in radiation protection and the safety of radiation sources began on October 8, 2018 in Athens, in the premises of the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE).
The course is hosted in Athens under the operation of EEAE as IAEA Regional Training Center in Europe for radiation, transport and waste safety.
EEAE Chairman, Mr. Christos Housiadas, welcomed participants and highlighted as one of the goals of the course “to produce in our Region professionals who will have the knowledge, the skills and the competence to become future leaders and qualified experts in the field”.
The 6th cycle of the course, lasting 21 weeks, is attended by 19 officials from regulatory authorities, coming from 16 countries of the IAEA Europe Region, which includes Central Asian countries, as well as from United Arab Emirates. To implement the course, EEAE collaborates with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the National Technical University and the NCSR "Demokritos".
