The project aims to the optimization of the patients' radiation doses when applying new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.
More specifically, it concerns the new technologies of ionizing radiation in conventional radiology, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy. The project has two main axes: (a) development of dose measurement procedures and risk assessment as well as development of protocols and quality assurance and (b) development and implementation of clinical audits in the above mentioned fields.
The project begun in October 2017 and was completed in May 2018. The project is funded by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT) in the framework of the Hellenic Republic-Siemens Settlement Agreement.
