The electromagnetic field measurements carried out by the EEAE relate to devices such as the following:

  • Mobile phone base stations, fixed wireless access stations and other types of stations providing telecommunications services of any kind
  • Electricity transmission and distribution lines, electricity sub-stations and electrical installations, machinery, devices and other equipment emitting low-frequency electric and magnetic fields
  • Television and radio station aerials
  • Radar systems and ground-based satellite stations

To carry out a measurement, the interested party must complete the relevant application and submit it to the EEAE. The fee depends on the type of field-emitting devices.

The EEAE’s Non-Ionising Radiation Office has been accredited by the National Accreditation Council (ESYD) as competent, in accordance with the requirements of the ELOT EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, to carry out measurements of high- and low-frequency electromagnetic fields.
