The EEAE Calibration Laboratory is a sub-standard calibration laboratory that has developed and maintains the national standards for Gy, Sv, Cb/kg for ionising radiation (γ, X and β).
The EEAE Calibration Laboratory is a sub-standard calibration laboratory that has developed and maintains the national standards for Gy, Sv, Cb/kg for ionising radiation (γ, X and β).
It carries out calibrations of radiation measurement instruments with respect to the quantities Air Kerma, Absorbed Dose, Individual Dose Equivalent at depths of 10 and 0.07 mm (Hp(10) and Hp(0.07)), Environmental Dose Equivalent at a depth of 10 mm, H*(10) and exposure in the fields of radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology, mammography, radiation protection and individual dosimetry.
The laboratory’s operations meet the calibration and verification needs for ionising radiation measuring instruments used in facilities where radiation is employed, such as, for example, in radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine departments of healthcare institutions, as well as in laboratories for industrial applications.
Since 2000, the laboratory has represented Greece in the European Metrology System, EURAMET, in the field of ionising radiation. Since 2002, the laboratory’s CMCs (Calibration and Measurement Capabilities) have been included in the database of the measurement capabilities and capacities of European metrology laboratories. In addition, the laboratory participates in intercomparisons between reference and sub-reference metrology laboratories in Europe, as well as in other programmes organised by EURAMET. In 2003, the Hellenic Institute of Metrology entrusted the metrology of gamma, X-ray and beta ionising radiation to the EEAE calibration laboratory.
The services provided by the Calibration Laboratory have been accredited in accordance with the ISO 17025 standard by ESYD (Hellenic Accreditation Council, Accreditation Certificate 117). The quality system in place ensures the accuracy and reliability of dosimetric quantities and methods. You can help improve the services we provide by completing the short evaluation questionnaire on the services provided by the Calibration Laboratory.

The procedure for requesting calibration services is described in the following steps.
MORE
To establish and maintain dosimetric parameters, reference instruments of the highest accuracy and quality are used, which are periodically calibrated in accredited laboratories.
MORE
The Calibration Laboratory collaborates with other reference and sub-reference metrology laboratories and actively participates in international and European programmes.
